Anyone remember the Crawdaddy club?
Does anyone remember the smaller of the two branches of the Crawdaddy club held in the back room of the Star pub in Croydon? The Rolling Stones started there before going on to the Richmond Park branch. I also remember Gary Farr and the t-bones, Gary is the son of the old boxer Tommy Farr and i think he came from Brighton. The only other ones i recall were the Mule skinners. All this was in the days when you had the back of your hand rubber stamped on entry and then you could come and go as you wanted, usually to get a pint. I remember sometime in the 60s Bill Wyman made a return visit and as requested was left to just enjoy the music, R'n'B of course.
